Your Hosts

Both Pastor Yost and Pastor Helton graduated from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary and Lenoir-Rhyne University and believe when it comes to traveling with the faith community, it becomes much more than just a tour. It becomes a spiritual pilgrimage – a journey of walking together in faith.

Pastor Bob and Lynn Helton
currently live in Lexington, SC. Bob is the pastor of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church and has served churches in both North and South Carolina. He is a retired Army Chaplain who with Lynn lived in Europe for seven years. They have traveled extensively throughout Germany, Italy and France. Lynn served as a tour organizer while they lived overseas. As seasoned travelers, they believe as Mark Twain said, "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness."
Pastor Carl and Debra Yost
currently live in Huntersville, NC where Carl says he is temporarily retired serving the church where he is led to serve. Ordained in 1983, Carl has served congregations in Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. Carl, an avid historian, has traveled in countries of Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and the Orient. In addition to his parish leadership, he is a retired United States Air Force Chaplain. Carl and Debra believe that travel is an excellent way to experience and teach the faith.
